About Us
On their first visit to Maine in 2012, two Austinites named Lisa and Roger Matthews fell hopelessly in love with Boothbay Harbor. It was a gorgeous, appropriately crisp and colorful autumn day when Roger discovered The Bounty being restored and outfitted at the Boothbay Shipyard. Strolling through town, Lisa was convinced she’d stepped into the movie set of Jaws, fully expecting to see Quint, Hooper and Brody in his rubbers boarding the Orca.
They immediately started dreaming about a move to Maine and experiencing: “The Way Life Should Be.”
A former Jaguar master technician and professional cyclist, Roger spent 23 years working for Austin Subaru and was ready to trade in the big city stress for the fun of riding his e-bike around the most beautiful place on earth.
Lisa had spent her career working in tech corporate marketing. Her true passion was researching and writing books about the paranormal. Lisa thought Boothbay Harbor was the perfect setting for a ghost tour, figuring there would be a mountain of mysterious stories to uncover about a place with its haunted history. And she was right!
Ten years later, the Matthews made their dream a reality by moving to a haunted house in Boothbay Harbor and opening Pedego Electric Bikes and Mysterious Harbor Tours.
